Your ‘To-Do’ List – eLead Generator

Thank you for your new purchase of one of our dynamic eMarketing products!

And welcome to the Smart Club Marketing family. You are about to learn the “magic” of Internet marketing.

But first there are several things we need you to do so we can help you achieve your goals.

We have separated these things into the five steps below.

Ready?

Step 1

The first thing you will do is to enroll in the Autoresponder program. We use KickStartCart because of the many functionalities of the program.

When you first enroll, KickstartCart will ask you to set up your username and password.

KickStartCart requires you to change your password every month. So, when you create your password here’s how to do it:

  1. Start with your club name (or a shortened version of it) all in lowercase letters.
  2. Then end with the month and the year (2 digits each). So if I was going to create a password for Smart Club Marketing, and it is March 2009, I would select for my password: smartclub0309

On the order page (using the link below) you will see a video with exactly HOW to enroll. If you feel you don’t need the video, just click the button at the bottom of the page to begin the enrollment process.

After you enroll, please email us your username and password.

Step 2

Select your eBook and Template for eLead Generator:

Go to www.smartclubmarketing.com/eleadtemplate

Step 3

Get together with your team and brainstorm a URL or domain name for your eBook.

You are NOT going to sign up for this name. Your only job is to come up with clever names.

For example: LoseWeightTN.com or IHateDiets.com

You will want to keep these relatively short because this name needs to fit on all the guerrilla marketing pieces (like the tear and take).

You will want a ".com&quot name. (Please don’t ask for .net, .com.au, .co.nz, etc.)

Once you make your list, narrow it down to three, putting them in descending order of the one you like most to the one you like least. (Keep the rest of your list – incase your first three choices are not available).

Once you have this list, email it to us.

Once we have secured your URL, we will tell you which URL you will be using so you can complete step 5.

Step 4

One aspect of your Kick Start Cart messages has a place for a return e-mail. This is the e-mail address that the recipient will see as the sender.

Special Email Account #1

For the eLead Generator program you will want a totally different e-mail that coordinates with the eBook and not the club.

For consistency purposes we suggest that you use your URL name to register a new e-mail on a free service like Gmail or yahoo.

For example, if your eBook is entitled www.NoMoreDiets.com try and secure the e-mail NoMoreDiets@gmail.com.

If the name that corresponds with your eBook is already taken for both yahoo and gmail then try adding a number to the end of it, like NoMoreDiets1@gmail.com.

Once you have the emails you would like to use, please send them to us via email.

Note: At the end of our setup process, we will be testing your eMarketing products. You may receive emails saying things like “Autoresponders successfully inherited” or other testing emails. Just ignore them.

Step 5

As you know, the goal of the eLead Generator is to ultimately drive more prospects to your club.

Once an individual has opted in for your eBook they will be receiving 52 tips over the weeks and months that follow.

Approximately every 4 tips a small “action offer” will be placed at the bottom of the tip that somehow directs the person back to your club.

This might be something as simple as directing them to a link for a guest pass or inviting them to a class or even something as simple as a link back to your website.

In total there will be 12 “action offers.”

What we need from you are the offers so we can add them to your auto responders.

Please provide us with a list in chronological order (1-12) with the exact wording and/or links that you would like added.

Send everything to us in an email.

Creating Your eLead Offers

The Strategy

An important part of your eLead Generator System is the offers (i.e.
“breadcrumbs”) that you will weave into every 4th tip.

These offers will be added as a P.S. to every 4th tip. It’s
interesting to note that a P.S. is the most read part of an email.

Before we get into the details of what you may consider for offers let
us quickly review the philosophy behind the C,B,As of Internet
Marketing. “C” stands for capturing the names; “B” stands for
building trust, and; “A” stands for action offers.

With the eLead Generator System it is imperative that you build
the trust with prospects. Further, it is important to point out
that the system “weaves” the action offers into the eTips so the
prospect looks forward to opening the e-mail, even if it has a
small call to action at the bottom. This concept is in stark
contrast to what the club industry has done for years, which is
get a name and then send the customer blatant, in your face
offers and promotional pieces. That kind of marketing breaks
trust rather than builds trust.

We remind you of this because it is easy to forget the strategy,
become impatient and want to put in offers that are too
aggressive. Remember, people who are ready to buy will see your
club name at the bottom of the e-mails and they will respond to
your offers. What you don’t want to do is irritate the people
who are not yet ready to buy and lose them by way of opt-out
before you have the opportunity to build their trust!

The Offers

With that said, let’s move onto the action offers. As you know
there are 52 eTips in the e-book auto responder. To begin with
you will have an action offer at the bottom of every 4th e-mail
message. Therefore, there will be a total of 12 action offers
over the course of the 52 eTips.

Depending upon which eBook you are using will obviously dictate
the type of offers. With the Diet Hater’s Guide to Weight Loss,
the tips you choose will further be impacted by whether or not
you have the Take It Off Weight Loss Program inside your club (or
any other structured weight loss program for that matter).

If you do not have a weight loss program you simply want to tie
your action offers into the fitness aspects of losing weight. For
example, most clubs offer fitness assessments for new members,
body composition analyses or equipment orientations for new
members. All of these services are ideal to use as action offers
in your eTips.

IMPORTANT. The most important thing to remember about selecting
eTips is that because the eTips will go out 365 days a year,
nothing you offer can be date specific. For example, you would
not want to say “Oh, we’re having an open house in X Month, so
let’s put that as a message.” That month will come and go but
the action offer will stay in the tip unless you change it.
Therefore, every action offer must be something that you can
offer year- round.

For example:

· Free body composition analysis.

· Free fitness assessment.

· Free session with a personal trainer.

· Free one week trial membership to the club.

Ask yourself this question, “What else does our club offer that
would be of value to someone interested in losing weight and
gaining fitness, that we could give them for free as a way of
getting them into the facility?

Remember the funnel that we talk about in the Internet Marketing
Strategy? Free is at the wide top of the funnel and a membership
is down at the narrow bottom. Everything in between are
incremental steps in terms of dollars spent by a
prospect/customer.

What type of program memberships might you have or be able to
create that are the next step up from free? Could you offer:

· Non-member intro to personal training package?

· 4-week group exercise membership? (For those of you who remember
when we used the punch card system in our clubs.)

· Some kind of diet or nutrition seminar?

· Healthy cooking class sponsored with a local chef?

Again, all of these would have to be offered at a set time each
and every month. So make sure you really think these things
through before finalizing your action tips.

If you have Take It Off or another weight loss program you can
make more specific nutrition offers, like a free dietary
evaluation, free orientation to the Take It Off Program or other
regularly featured events you may have. You can even offer short
versions of the weight loss program or discounts. If you are a
Take It Off licensee you may want to contact Casey Conrad’s
office directly to discuss these options.

One way to figure out your possibilities is to simply sit down with
your team and brainstorm a list of everything you could offer for:

· Free
· $1-$49
· $50-$99
· $99-$199
